Tweet testimonials: testimonials communicated over Twitter are often being displayed on landing pages these days (they are openly accessible and therefore probably legit). What to do when there are none yet, but you’d like to get some? Announce it, leave the space.

Smiling faces/testimonials: 37signals (@37signals) did some A/B testing with their product landing page for Highrise and a nice post about the results they’ve found: Smiling faces and testimonials work.
Notice how reloading the page brings you another person/testimonial.  Would be interesting to see how conversions looked if you could serve the images according to the viewers gender.
