Responsive landing page: Thermo.me (@robocat) have a captivating landing page by making it responsive to you personally: a) it takes your location and let’s you know what temperature it is at your place (the graphic on the left adapts as well). b) Since these days people are sharing a lot on twitter, sharing a temperature might as well be of some importance to some: see the blue call to action button at the bottom.
Forkly (@forkly) started what became a popular way to get a lot of beta testers and buzz ahead of the product launch with their beta signup page (successfully adapted for Hipster and made into a product itself by launchrock).
Lifepath’s signup page has an interesting take on private betas: although you can’t officially sign up yet (creates scarcity), you can buy yourself into a beta account (originally 10 dollars, now 3). No information is given about the site’s purpose, which provokes curiosity.
Update: the 10 dollars account had higher conversions than the 3 dollars account. Think about it.
