Beta period: Snapjoy let’s you know that you can use their full product for free during the beta. In case you were curious you can see a provisory pricing page.
Launch process: Geekli.st makes people sign in with Twitter to reserve their usernames on the service. Below there’s a showcase (or list…) with people that already signed up.
Feedback: Instant feedback form on the Stockperformer (@stockperformer) beta when you’re logged in. When you click to type it opens a wider window for a better experience.
Beta sign up: Vaultpress (@vaultpress) used good copy for their beta signup page rather than a simple web form. This way there is a lot of additional info processed for the beta providers as well as the user himself.
Forkly (@forkly) started what became a popular way to get a lot of beta testers and buzz ahead of the product launch with their beta signup page (successfully adapted for Hipster and made into a product itself by launchrock).
