Emotional design: Another great story from the 37Signals blog.
My little cousin decided to dress up as Woody from Toy Story for Halloween this year. After finding the perfect version of that costume from the Disney Store, his mom had it shipped to the office since we didn’t know exactly what time it would arrive in the day. When it got here, the words “Love – Andy” was written in marker on the outside by someone from the Disney Store team.
Andy - if you haven’t seen the movies - is the main cowboy character the little kid.

Honesty up front: @37signals’ all new Basecamp has just come out and with it the new landing pages. Notice how the customer recommended figure is lower than 100%? An age old psychology trick you should read up on here.
P.S. You may have to reload the page a few times to see the actual detail.

Smiling faces/testimonials: 37signals (@37signals) did some A/B testing with their product landing page for Highrise and a nice post about the results they’ve found: Smiling faces and testimonials work.
Notice how reloading the page brings you another person/testimonial.  Would be interesting to see how conversions looked if you could serve the images according to the viewers gender.
